Coalition Names The Otsego County Chamber as Chamber Advocate of the Year – 2007

The Otsego County Chamber and its president and CEO Rob Robinson have been named the Employer Alliance for Affordable Health Care Chamber Advocate of the Year – 2006 for exceptional advocacy efforts in the area of health insurance mandates.

Selection was made from 55 business associations that partner with the Employer Alliance for Affordable Health Care. The Chamber Advocate of the year is based on an exceptional committed the chamber has shown in improving New York’s business climate by opposing costly, unfunded health insurance mandates.

"The Otsego County Chamber has been committed to returning affordable healthcare to the primary source of funding of health insurance -- the small businesses of New York, said Rob Robinson, President & CEO. "It is extremely gratifying to be recognized for the hard work we do for our members!"

The Employer Alliance for Affordable Health Care is the largest, single-issue grassroots business coalition in New York State. Members believe that everyone is entitled to basic, affordable health insurance and oppose health insurance mandates that increase costs and contribute to the number of uninsured New Yorkers.

“This chamber, under Rob’s leadership, is a chamber that clearly performs in terms of advocacy and interest,” said Alliance Chair Jeff Leland. “Our coalition has benefited greatly from Rob’s involvement. A commitment of this level is too exceptional to go unnoticed.”
