The Employer Alliance Endorses Assemblyman Hooker in Tuesday’s Election
ONEIDA – The Employer Alliance for Affordable Health Care, the
largest single-issue business coalition in New York State, today
endorsed Assemblyman Daniel L. Hooker (R-127) in Tuesday’s election.
According to Employer Alliance President Scott Miller, Assemblyman
Hooker’s voting and bill introduction records reflect his strong
commitment to affordable health care.
“Health care policies legislated in Albany have a very real impact on
New York’s small businesses,” Miller said. “Mandates are approved
without formal consideration of cost or efficacy while the financial
burden ultimately ends up on the sole proprietor or small business owner
who can least afford it. Assemblyman Hooker has consistently voted
against such mandates, showing that he truly understands our plight when
it comes to the desperate need for affordable health insurance.
Assemblyman Hooker represents the 127th Assembly District, which
includes Schoharie County and portions Chenango, Columbia, Delaware,
Green, Otsego and Ulster counties.
“We believe that his continued support will contribute to our
efforts in giving New Yorkers a choice when it comes to affordable
health insurance coverage,” Miller said. “Supporting Assemblyman Hooker
is good for small business owners, their employees, their families and
New York State.”
The Employer Alliance for Affordable Health Care is the largest,
single-issue grassroots business coalition in New York State with more
than 2,100 members employing more than 150,000 individuals. The Employer
Alliance believes that everyone should have access to quality,
affordable health insurance and has called on Albany lawmakers to stop
passing mandates that increase health insurance premiums. For more
